The establishment of the National Rugby League following the Super League war created a new opportunity for Rugby League trading cards.
After a 3 year hiatus of a dedicated league wide trading card set, 2000 saw Select acquire the license and release their first collection. Over 13 seasons Select produced 1-2 releases a season.
